Wandering, taking photos, observing passers-by, writing about Hong Kong and her people— it all started with a series of unfortunate family events that was hard for a 16-year-old to bear. Instead of returning home after hell-like Maths tutorial classes, Vanessa used to hop onto random trams and hop off whenever she wanted. She also once walked from Wanchai to Kennedy Town for fun and relaxation.
Seeing a lot of historic buildings and old urban districts being demolished or redeveloped, she mourns about them and is aware of heritage conservation in Hong Kong.
Vanessa is also multilingual. You can ask her about everything in Cantonese, English, Mandarin, German and French.
